Such a Warm Welcome!

Just a quick post to thank all who came out to attend my grand opening party on July 23, 2015.  It was a huge success and a lot of fun! If you missed it, fear not!  We have my annual holiday open-house to look forward to in December... stay tuned!

New Location!

I'm very very excited to announce that you can now find me at Lowe Mill, studio 101 in Huntsville, AL!  I'm thrilled to have been chosen to be a part of this one-of-a-kind establishment.  Have you been there?  Here's their website: www.lowemill.net  There are over 120 artists and craftsmen hard at work in their respective studios.  The creative energy and inspiration abounds!  You can find me hard at work at my bench, while you browse my available jewelry, textile art and refinished home furnishings.  Come for a visit!

An American in Paris

Ooo la la!  I just returned from a trip to Europe and I'm admittedly having some trouble returning back to reality.  I've been calling it post-vacation depression.  (That could be a real thing, you know... is it a real thing? I think I'll google that when I'm done.)  Anyway, Paris was as exciting and as beautiful as ever!  Priceless art, staggering architecture, outdoor cafe seating, flattering Frenchmen and I wouldn't dare forget to mention the food!  I ate everything in sight and came home a few pounds lighter thanks to all the walking I did- about 10 miles a day.

From Paris, we ventured to Versailles where we stayed the weekend at the luxurious Waldorf Astoria hotel, toured the Palace and Marie Antoinette's Hamlet and shopped local antique shops near the town square.  The best part of that portion of the trip was the dinner we experienced at the chef's table at the Trainon Palace's Gordon Ramsay!  The presentation was only outdone by the flavors- it was AMAZING!

From there we enjoyed seeing the French, Belgian and German countryside on a trainride to Cologne, Germany. While we only had a couple days there, we thoroughly enjoyed Cologne's famous gothic cathedral, Roman-German museum and bustling town square.  It was great!

Still Obsessed

I'm still working on my embroidery projects- here's my latest.  Inspired by the work of Alphonse Mucha, she is the second in a series of work I have yet to produce.  I've surprised myself with this obsession... I have such a continuous urge to do this.  And, excitedly, I see no end in sight.  So as soon as I finished this one, I started #3.

What are you working on?

There were people who love me, art, architecture, history, wedding bells, fall colors, the Hope Diamond, good music, food and so much more.

Here's a few pictures of some of the wonderful things that make me want to get to work in my studio:
